Blepharoplasty: The correction of the upper- and lower lid can be done by local anaesthesia. The expanded skin and some fat pads will be removed. As the wound is closed by a cosmetic suture, no visible scar remains. 5 Days after surgery the sutures are removed, make up can be applied and after some weeks the last traces are gone.
At the lower lid we mostly take the CO2 laser for cutting. And the incision for the removal of the fat pads is placed in the mucosa of the lower lid. There is no need for a suture and no scars remain. The intervention only lasts about 30 minutes, patients are able to leave the office immediately after the surgery.
Facelift: Lots of traces of the ageing skin are found in the surface of the skin, like pigments, redness and wrinkles. These changes can be treated by lasers, chemical peels and fillers. But often these changes are combined with a flabbiness of the deep muscles of the face. And there is only one procedure which is able to improve this problem, the surgical face lift. The skin and the muscles have to be dissected and fixed in a position, they have had in younger days. The effect is a dramatically younger looking and a strong reduction of the wrinkles in the lower face. By the way the result of a face lift is lasting for 10 years in minimum.
Endoscopic brow lift: Sometimes the problem of the upper lid cannot be solved by a blepharoplasty alone. Especially when the position of the eye brows is already deep because of the flabbiness of the muscles underneath. In this case an endoscopic brow lift is the ideal solution. With just four small incisions behind the hair line, the skin of the forehead is dissected and anchored in a higher position. The eyes will be opened and we have the impression of a younger face.
If the problem of the forehead is not that severe the brow lift can be done in local anaesthesia as well. It is so called mini brow lift. The patients are able to leave the office 30 minutes after the procedure.
